Job Summary :

As a Percussion Tutor for Tutor Doctor Knoxville, you will work with a high-school percussionist in the Alcoa, Tennessee area.

He wants to develop his skills playing snare drums, improve his sight-reading, and polish his musical ability overall. This part-time, hourly position will allow you to share your passion for percussion with eager learners and help them develop their skills and knowledge in the subject.

Compensation & Benefits :

This role offers an hourly rate of $22 per hour, paid monthly. Benefits include a flexible schedule, the opportunity to work with motivated students, and the satisfaction of helping students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities :

• Create customized lesson plans based on individual student's needs and goals
• Teach students various percussion techniques, rhythms, and styles
• Instruct proper posture, hand positioning, and grip for percussion instruments
• Help students develop musicality and a sense of timing
• Provide feedback and constructive criticism to students to help them improve
• Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to lesson plans
• Ensure a safe and positive learning environment
• Collaborate with parents / guardians to track student progress and address any concerns

Requirements :

• Extensive knowledge and experience in percussion instruments such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones
• Excellent teaching and communication skills
• Previous experience working with students of various ages and skill levels
• Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans
• A passion for music education and a desire to share your knowledge with others
• Reliable transportation to and from the Alcoa, Tennessee area
• A high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree in Music or Education preferred
• Experience with basic Database / Data Entry
• Strong time-management skills
