Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) Responsibilities

Level One Medication Aides (L1MA) are responsible for administering daily medication to residents in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements. L1MA duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting and recording medication administration.

Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) Requirements

• Certified in the state of practice, required.
• Successful completion of State Approved Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience as a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) in a long-term care setting preferred but not required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs; ALFs as required by state).
