Tutelage Residential Services prides itself in helping people be great and knocking out goals. As a team member you will have the opportunity for training, mentorship, and professional growth.

Schedule that allows work life harmony; primarily work just 2 days a week (weekend block) and earn 40 hours. This position is located in Monroeville, PA and the shift is 7am Saturday through 11pm Sunday.

In this role, you help individuals maintain a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment which fosters growth and rehabilitation.

The Direct Support Professional builds trust through reliability and communication. A s olid ability to manage complex behavi oral needs with care, respect and knowledge.

Overall, providing quality care specific for individual needs and aligned with the Department of Human Services "Everyday Lives".

Key Responsibilities :

• Implement the mission statement and vision statement
• Have fun through coordinated community activities for the residents
• Collaborate with team members to complete site task and improve the way we work.
• Educate and empower individuals to be independent, confident and social
• I dentify risk, quality, incident management and prevention
• Adhere to confidentiality of client records
• Completes all necessary documentation prior to end of shift
• Communicates regularly with Community Home Supervisor and Program Specialists to ensure continuity of care based o n ISP
• Monitors food preparation, ensuring meals are nutritious and pro perly portioned
• Monitor visitations
• Implement behavior programs as trained and required
• Conduct fire drills according to the schedule monthly
• Maintain and reconcile petty cash / client funds accurately and honestly
• Assist individuals with a variety of task; including but not limited to cleaning, grocery shopping and transporting to appointments.
• Responsible for direct supervision of individuals with developmental disabilities within the group home.
• Attend, pass, & administer medication according to the DPW. Meet with individuals (as needed) on an individual basis to discuss concerns
• Conduct and document monthly fire drills according to ODP procedures
• Report any consumer (individual) abuse (physical, emotional, sexual) or act of omission
• Be available to meet with repair person(s) and inspectors
• Attend required p rogram, meetings and specific trainings
• Lifting, snow shoveling, cutting grass, and climbing stairs, as necessary.
• Conduct a safety inspection daily and inform Supervisor / CEO of any immediate concerns.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Must be able to operate equipment (e.g. wheel chairs, hand trucks). Must be able to exert up to seventy-five pounds of force occasionally and / or frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary for the care of the individuals that we serve, training will be provided

The Direct Support Professional plays a critical role in the overall success of Intellectual Developmental Disability Residential Services.

• Enjoys building collaborative relationships and rapport through trust and clear communication.
• Basic word processing skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, & Publisher) and email usage skills.

Qualifications :

Education and / or Experience

A High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 1 year of Human Service work experience (preferable)

Other Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• Physical exam and TB Mantoux test
• Not be disqualified on any of the local, state or federal exclusion lists
• Have an acceptable child and criminal history, no disqualifying violations
• Ability to use hand tools and small equipment (I.E. lawnmowers, shovels, weed eater, etc.)
• Must possess a valid PA Driver's License w / an acceptable driving history
• Must be / or able to be certified to administer medication
• Digital management skills (phone, text, tablet etc)
• Autonomy - ability to work without immediate supervision
• Therapy documentation platform
• CPR / First Aid Certification
