A busy and growing office located in the New Dorp area of Staten Island seeks a newly-admitted Attorney (0-1 years) licensed to practice in New York State for a full-time, IN-PERSON Associate Attorney position.
The firm of interest focuses mostly on Real Estate, Civil Litigation, Business Law, Divorces, and Immigration Law.
The Position will primarily focus around assisting our Litigation counsel with Civil Litigation matters. Position shall include attending court appearances across the Five Boroughs, Nassau, and Westchester Counties, conducting legal research, sitting in on depositions, drafting and filing court documents, assisting with discovery, directing correspondence with clients and opposing counsel, and other requested day-to-day tasks.
The Applicant will be working closely alongside the firm’s Partners in a close-knit, friendly and clean office setting. Flexibility and willingness to travel to courts with a car or via mass transit is REQUIRED. The Staten Island Railway is a block away from the office and street parking is readily available.
A suitable applicant must be well-organized, personable, have strong writing and research skills using LexisNexis and ability to use NYSCEF, PACER, etc.
The applicant should have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Litigation and desire to obtain valuable hands-on legal experience with suitable mentors. The right applicant has the potential to grow with us.
This is a salaried position with an expected 40-45 hour work week. The scale is in the $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 range for admitted attorneys depending on experience. Please do not apply if this pay scale does not work for you.
JDs with NYS bar passage pending admission will also be considered at a lower salary to start and grow into an Associate position.
