Description

At Midwest Wellness Institute (MWI), we believe in transforming lives by providing revolutionary and research-based treatments. With therapists, psychiatrists, and PMHNPs with immediate availability and many insurance plans accepted, we are the people’s choice to get help in Sioux Falls for mental health issues. MWI is seeking a Practice Administrator to join our practice who will provide therapeutic services of all psychiatric services alongside Clay Pavlis, MD.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, high-energy, motivated leader. Interested candidates must have experience and be dependable, punctual, and able to communicate professionally. 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Monitor facilities’ operational systems and workflows and prepare progress reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Plan and manage medical services of the practice by maintaining patient records, updating health records, creating provider schedules, and coordinating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Monitor & manage the business to budgeted metrics
  • Ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations, protecting patients' data
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate the work activities of administrative personnel.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel.
  • Maintain the schedule, day-to-day operations, and overall flow of the practice.
  • Motivate and lead a team of dedicated professionals.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be highly self-motivated and an independent thinker who can problem-solve and work well in a collaborative/team environment. The individual must possess characteristics of attention to detail and work as a motivating team leader. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary. The applicant must demonstrate the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through ongoing skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.

Education/Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3 years of experience as a practice manager (preferred).
  • Medical office experience is required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to apply logic and draw conclusions based on knowledge. May refer to reference materials to solve problems. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer, Analytical and Organization Skills

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, telephone systems, and email. Ability to learn and use all functions of electronic medical record software and transcription software. Must accurately enter data into a database, search for information, and send and receive emails and attachments.

No certifications are required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 1 or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participating in the interview and hiring process, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
