Turning the Corner, LLC is Hiring a Crisis Intervention Specialist, Mobile Outreach, Relief Near South Portland, ME

Position Overview The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Relief Crisis Intervention Specialist to join the Mobile Outreach team to provide short-term, trauma-informed, stabilization services to adults experiencing a mental health or co-occurring crisis as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization.

Our Ideal Candidate 

  • Has at least one year of experience in the mental health field 

  • Knowledge of DSM-V

  • Solid oral and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Has demonstrated technical proficiency

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related discipline - or - Associates Degree in related discipline 2 years of relevant experience - or - High School Diploma or GED 5 years relevant work experience. 

  • MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check

  • MHRT-CSP (crisis services provider) certification or ability to achieve within 30 days of employment required.

About the Mobile Crisis Intervention Specialist Position:
  • Provide crisis assessment and immediate intervention to stabilize individuals experiencing mental health crises.
  • Coordinate with individuals, families, and community supports to address emergency psychiatric needs and short-term follow-up.

  • Foster effective communication among crisis services staff, agency programs, police, community providers, and stakeholders.

  • Attend staff meetings as needed for continuity of care, participate in other relevant meetings, and maintain positive work relationships.

  • Demonstrate proactive conflict resolution skills and utilize self-care strategies to address secondary traumatization.

  • Ensure all actions align with trauma-informed, trauma-sensitive, and recovery-oriented principles.

  • Deliver services directly (face-to-face) and through alternative systems (phone, electronic media).

Schedule: This is an as-needed, per diem position. Hours are variable. Flexible schedule is required and may include evening or weekend hours. Location: Portland, ME
