Strategic Internship (Scorecard)

The Turning Point Action Scorecard is the most comprehensive and transparent rating system in the conservative movement. Our team has worked across the conservative movement to identify every scorecard and the legislation they encompass and provide an accumulation of scoring from across the Republican spectrum. The goal of the scorecard is to hold elected officials accountable and inform all citizens about how their representatives are voting in office.

Strategic Internship (Scorecard) Part time

*Start date August 1st but can be flexible

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Turning Point Action is seeking a Strategic Coordinator to assist with the function of the scorecard project. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: conducting extensive research on bills in Congress, collecting information and data about elected officials, reading and summarizing policy, maintaining the integrity of the website, and performing any other relative tasks pertaining to the team. The ideal candidate must fit the company and department culture, embodying the following traits: grassroots humility, warrior spirit, and persistent innovation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect Data about elected officials

• Research bills on the floor and upcoming in Congress
• Write one-page policy reports
• Conduct prompt and efficient research on hot-button issues
• Build informational web pages
• Organize and maintain the database
• Stay updated with all relevant news and media

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent oral, written, and professional communication skills
• Knowledge of Google Suite and data entry
• Passion for conservative ideas and principles
• Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and goal-oriented
• Self-starter and self-motivated
• Punctual and highly responsive

“WOW!” SKILLS:

• Prior use of Airtable or other relevant basic design platforms
• Prior use of WordPress
• Experience with or understanding of policy making
• Experience in teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Extensive knowledge of party politics and political landscapes.
• Prior involvement with Turning Point Action, its affiliates, and/or political campaigns
