Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Your role will involve creating and implementing individualized education plans, collaborating with other educators and professionals, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques to support students' social-emotional development
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support for students
- Use effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assess student progress through ongoing observation, formal assessments, and data collection
- Modify curriculum materials and instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Provide guidance and support to classroom aides or paraprofessionals working with students with special needs
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to develop effective home-school partnerships

Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other professionals
- Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning
- Experience with speech therapy or library services is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
