Turner Industries Group is looking for NCCER or NCCCO certified Crane Operator for full-time maintenance work in the Baton Rouge, LA area.

Crane operator will be responsible for operation of various power driven and hydraulic machinery which are used to move materials. Responsibilities include providing crane lifting and rigging support in addition to equipment preventative maintenance and inspection.

• NCCER or NCCCO certification required
• Must be able to pass drug test and background check
• Must have valid Driver's license
• Must have current physical

Job Requirements:

Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam-powered operating equipment; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects; may be required to manipulate equipment on unlevel working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment

Qualification Standards:
• High school or equivalent
• Preferably one (1) to two (2) years of experience in specified skill
• Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Hazard Communication orientation/test
• Turner Industries Group LLC Indoctrination
• OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
• Job site orientation
• Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Physical Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction

Mental Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; reading and interpreting load charts; judging distances and slopes accurately; following oral and/or written directions; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards

Work Environment Factors:• Location: industrial maintenance and construction sites and/or pipe fabrication facility• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominantly outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
