Job Description

Turnberry on the Green is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our talented security team as Front Desk Concierge/Security Officers to monitor and patrol property/premises.

This high-end community demands the highest level of customer service, professionalism, teamwork, attention to detail, and ethical standards.

Officers are expected to facilitate a safe environment for the residents and employees, and work together with the Management Team to minimize occurrences of loss or damage.

Basic Requirements

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Clean Criminal Record (must pass a background check)

Essential Functions

  • Perform security patrols.
  • Enforce identification procedures.
  • Deter potential occurrences of theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
  • Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety, fire hazards, and other security-related situations.
  • Provide training to new security staff.
  • Receive packages and send notifications to residents.
  • Act as a greeter to all tenants and visitors.
  • Foot patrol of interior and exterior areas of assigned locations.
  • Observe and report suspicious activities and individuals.
  • Communicate by radio with designated Condominium personnel in accordance with the Condominium’s standards.
  • Full awareness of and adherence to ADA standards.
  • Successful completion of the training/certification process.
  • Answer the departmental telephone using proper salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs).
  • Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet).
  • Climb stairs occasionally during shift.
  • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties.
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks.
  • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination.
  • Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones.
  • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat.
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments.
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions.
  • Must be able to handle the pressure of working in a high volume general public environment (constantly to occasionally depending on the assignment).

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
  • As a condition of employment, an employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
  • As a condition of continued employment, an employee must maintain a valid Driver's License and other required license(s).
  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic-to-intermediate computer skills are required.
