Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Able to establish and maintain positive, professional, and cooperative working relationships.
2. Able to communicate effectively with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including Tribal members, other Rancheria residents, internal staff, co-workers, and the public.
3. Complete needed maintenance and repair projects as assigned by Community Development Director and follow direction of Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader in a safe and professional manner.
4. Operate and maintain hand tools (shovels, axes, Mc-Clouds, rakes, etc. and some small power tools (weed-eaters, chainsaws, lawnmowers, wood-splitters, etc.) in cutting and distribution of firewood to Tribal Elders.
5. Must be able to work in the field on rugged terrain and perform manual lifting to (50) lbs.
6. Collection of residential/Tribal Government refuse on the Rancheria.
7. Removal of snow/ice from walkways.
8. Removal of invasive species.
9. Restoration projects.
10. Landscaping and grounds maintenance.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Possess High School Diploma or GED or be willing to complete requirements for GED during employment (within 6 months of establishing employment).
2. Ability to work holidays and weekends as needed.
3. Possess effective communication skills.
4. Must be reliable, show up for work on time, and ready for work.
5. Must be willing to attend training and local seminars as needed to upgrade job skills.
6. Must be able to work in the field on rugged terrain and perform manual lifting to (50) lbs.
7. Willing to take instruction and report job needs to supervisory staff.
8. A willingness to adhere to all tribally adopted safety policies and procedures.
9. Must possess a valid California driver’s license (Class B preferred) and comply with the requirements of the Tribe’s driving policy and insurance requirements.
