Tunista Services is Hiring a Remote Safety Inspector
Tunista Services LLC Regular PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Safety Inspector is responsible for ensuring that workplace conditions conform to established safety regulations and standards. He/she inspects equipment, machinery, and work areas to ensure that they are safe and functional. The Safety Inspector makes recommendations on how to improve workplace safety and health. Must be on-site and be available for Government for phone calls. Must be certified as a Playground Inspector. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor continues to support the Arsenal mission, proactively solve problems, and deliver quality services safely in the performance of the Rock Island BOS PWS. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Conducts regular safety inspections of work areas and equipment. Review, update and establish procedures to assure safe, effective and consistent levels of performance are within directives and contract guidelines. Prepare safety reports to be provided to Government and Corporate Leadership. Identify potential hazards and take steps to mitigate them. Monitor compliance with safety and health regulations and standards. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their cause and recommend preventative measures. Develop, maintain and implement safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on safety regulations and standards. Timely completion and accuracy of all inspections and work. Works closely and harmoniously with other employees. Must be able to multitask. Perform other duties as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Must possess advanced experience in safety inspection and compliance regarding Government contracts. Must possess strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards. Must have experience in safety policy development and implementation. Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate them. Ability to provide detailed report, briefing and advise. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Must have knowledge of maintenance data collection databases to include in administrative level entries. Must be an excellent communicator and have fair judgement. Must be able to attend Government conferences, as required. Must have experience in providing safety support in large facilities maintenance or construction projects. Able a multi-tasker. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have Playground Inspector Certification (State of Illinois preferred). Five (5) years’ experience of Safety Inspection in DoD Contract facility maintenance operations. Experience in Civil Engineering Safety implementation and policy. Experience in Civil Engineering process and operation. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects and Q-Pulse. Must be able to work on secure military facilities. Must be able to go TDY, as required/requested by the Government. Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be qualified to operate a vehicle. Must be able to pass a DoD background check, pass drug screening tests and obtain SECRET security clearance.
