First Branch Unified District encompasses Tunbridge and Chelsea students in grades PreK - 8th. We are currently seeking a school nurse for Tunbridge Central School for grades K-4th for the 2024-2025 school year. Our school nurse is a critical part of our community in wellness, providing daily medical support, administering medicine, working as a team member for crisis support, and working with the community at large on needs. The ideal candidate shall possess the following:Minimum 1 years nursing experience required.Registered Nurse in the state of Vermont.Acute care nursing skills.First Aid and CPR certifiedTeam member to the crisis team, Targeted Social and Emotional Weekly Team meetings, 504 Committee, and IEPs as needed.Providing nursing assessment, treatment, first aid and emergency careAdministering and monitoring medications taken at school; as well as train staffmembers in this process as needed;Manage & Implement medical action plans (allergy, asthma, etc) as neededMaintaining comprehensive and confidential student health records that are compliant with federal, state and local regulations. Must remain proficient in current technology for health record databases used throughout the district.Managing communicable diseasesAssessing and planning for students with health related concerns which may affect learningCommunicating with families and staff regarding health related issuesProviding families with health-related resources and referralsAbility to connect and communicate with students, teachers, and guardiansValue flexible thinking, problem solving, collaboration with colleagues, and a commitment to every student can learnBenefits include competitive salary and paid coursework up to six credits per year.
