Tumlin Family Dentistry is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Cartersville, GA

Job Overview:

Tumlin Family Dentistry is seeking a skilled and dedicated experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the dentist during procedures and ensure the comfort and safety of our patients. If you are passionate about dentistry and have excellent organizational and communication skills, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

- Help with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and properly setting up procedure rooms.

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures and with daily patient care

- Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis

- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records

- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions

- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow in the office

- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed

- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care

-Assist dental hygienists when necessary

-Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions

- Assist with office duties (ex: cleaning, scheduling, check-in/out, answering phones, filing) as needed

Required Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- X-ray certification

- 1 year dental assistant experience

- Bilingual (Spanish & English)

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and dental team members

- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

-Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program

- CPR certification

- Proficiency in dental software systems, such as OpenDental

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy protection

- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment used in dental offices

- Strong understanding of infection control procedures to maintain a sterile environment

- Solid knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures

- Experience with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions
