Tulane University is Hiring a Financial Analyst I Near Orleans, LA

At the Tulane School of Social Work (TSSW), the Financial Analyst I accomplishes specific financial/analytical tasks as assigned by the TSSW Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration. This position uses a broad experiential skill set to complete defined projects to support business development. This position examines financial and operations processes and ensures full and efficient use of funds from all sources. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Attention to detail.
  • Experience and understanding of budgeting and managing budgets.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
  • Knowledge of grant financial management.
  • Knowledge of compliance and audit concepts.
  • Ability to perform, manage, and balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, as well as work under time constraints independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of online collaboration tools and Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn new systems as needed.
Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 years of financial and operational management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in a university academic or research department.
