Tulane University is Hiring a Department Administrator I Near Orleans, LA

The Department Administrator 1 for Tulane University School of Medicine Program of Nursing (PON) will provide administrative oversight and operational support for all aspects in the development and launch of the nursing baccalaureate degree (BSN) program. The Department Administrator manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations and high-level administrative support of the SOM Dean for the Program of Nursing. They will work with the Dean and others to draft and implement policies and procedures and data collection methods for the PON that meets regulatory and accreditation requirements. They will assist in determining the staffing organizational structure and roles of staff, operationalize the administrative departmental aspects of the PON and facilitate recruitment efforts of faculty and staff. They are responsible for the management and retention of institutional and program regulatory, accreditation and credentialing files. The Department Administrator will serve as a resource regarding compliance with program standards and will work closely with the Program Leadership with preparing annual and special reports for the School, University, regulatory and accreditation organizations. They will assist with credentialing of faculty and manage the PON budget. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Report writing skills and experience.
  • Data management experience.
  • Experience in professional administrative management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to respond diplomatically, professionally, and courteously with students and individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Expertise in using computer software programs, particularly Excel, database and word processing programs.
  • Ability to enhance operations, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities including resolving complex problems requiring innovative solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to coordinate program activities and staff.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to handle a flexible workflow that incorporates multiple deadlines, routine tasks, and both predictable and unexpected project requests.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritizes assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous and accurate organization of electronic files and data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity and discretion in dealing with data, documents and staff.
  • Knowledge of Tulane’s Software: Banner, Canvas, Concur, Courseleaf, EBS, Interfolio, Kronos, Sciquest, Slate, Library Research System.
  • Must Exude Hands-On “Whatever It Takes” Attitude and be comfortable with ambiguity.
Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of directly‐related work experience
OR
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent and 8 years’ directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications • Experience in a university or higher education environment
