Tulane University Staff is Hiring an Associate Director, AIS Gift Accounting Near New Orleans, LA

The Associate Director, AIS, Gift Accounting is a professional level role responsible for planning and execution of accounting processes and projects delivered by the department in support of fundraising efforts at Tulane University. The position requires an in-depth understanding of charitable gifts, data practices and data quality standards. This position serves as an expert on gift policies and processes as well as IRS regulations pertaining to gifts. The Associate Director, AIS, Gift Accounting supervises Gift Records Specialists and the daily activities of recording and receipting gifts. This position is responsible for translating and documenting procedures, training staff on existing solutions and new technology as it is introduced and serving as an experienced resource to the staff. The Associate Director's work influences the accuracy of institutional financial transactions and impacts fundraising effectiveness. The position works closely with all departments within the Advancement Office, departments throughout the university, and directly with donors to provide information and customer service as needed or requested.•Knowledge of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes, gift and pledge processing, receipting, acknowledgements, IRS regulations, CASE standards, and FASB/GASB compliance, required.
•Excellent organization skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple demands, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with accuracy, speed, independent judgment, and minimal supervision, required.
•Strong team leadership and management skills.
•Ability to work independently and within a team structure.
•Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Demonstrated accurate data entry skills.
•Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information and data.
•Knowledge of various software systems for financial transaction processing and/or desktop office applications.
•Ability to work long hours and delay vacations at fiscal and calendar year end due to heavy volume of work at these times.
•Bachelor's Degree and 3 years direct experience (transferrable experience may be considered)
