Job Summary

Position requires the knowledge, skills, & ability to support and maintain a manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and interpret written and oral instructions, comprehend, and make inferences from written material, read, and interpret machine and building blueprints
  • Complete work orders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responsible for all machine maintenance with safety and functionality as a focus
  • Identify machine parts needed for repair or stocking and inform MRO Buyer
  • Perform work from an aerial platform scissors or boom lift in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
  • Identify and report problems and possible solutions regarding the efficiency and functionality of production assets
  • Assist electricians, when necessary, with the mechanical aspects of the job
  • Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
  •  Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment
  •  Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
  •  Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
  • Record and report parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary
  • Record and report repairs and maintenance performed
  • Perform buildings and grounds maintenance as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years as a maintenance mechanic or performing maintenance work as part of a maintenance department

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a mechanical state apprenticeship program
  • Electrical knowledge/machine controls experience 

Work Requirements:

  • Must work in a safe, clean and ethical manner at all times 
  • Occasional travel off-site for the purpose of:
    1. Training and information gathering to support the implementation of new production equipment
    2. Obtaining parts to get machines and equipment back into production
  • Completion of training and applicable certification for forklift, high lift, boom lift, and lock out tagout
  • Must work well with others
  • Effective communicator, and able to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently
  • Must possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn and have good attendance

Day Shift 2-2-3 schedule (6:30am - 6:30pm)
Week 1 = 36 hours (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Week 2 = 48 hours (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday)
Night Shift 2-2-3 schedule (6:30pm - 6:30am)
- $2 Shift Premium
Week 1 = 36 hours (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Week 2 = 48 hours (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday)
12 hour shift, includes lunch & breaks
