Tucson Hotel Management, LLC is Hiring a Grounds Keeper/ Maintenance Tech Near Tucson, AZ

The Maintenance Utility position performs maintenance, groundskeeping and cleaning tasks at the direction of management.

Responsibilities and requirements of Maintenance Utility include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Education: There are no special educational requirements for this position.
  • Equipment Skills: Able to use powered and manually operated hand tools.
  • Personal Skills and Characteristics: industrious and have good initiative, reliability and attention to detail. Have good organizational skills. Have clean and safe work habits, professional and flexible.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to safely lift and carry 50 pounds for the purposes of installing and maintaining equipment, fixtures and furniture and for retrieving and storing supplies. Able to assist with the evacuation of hotel guests and other emergency procedures. Able to drive a motor vehicle. Able to reach fully to the front, sides and overhead for the purposes of installing and maintaining equipment, fixtures and furniture and for retrieving and storing supplies. Able to safely climb footstools and ladders. Is able to work in a kneeling position for up to two hours per day. Able to safely and efficiently use common hand tools and electrical tools. Able to bend and squat while performing maintenance tasks. Able to safely work in high places, such as rooftops; and able to work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces. Able to wear protective clothing and equipment, such as gloves, respirators and eyewear. Able to work safely with caustic chemicals used for cleaning, landscaping and maintenance.
  • Be knowledgeable on the safe use of tools, chemicals, supplies and related materials. Use these materials safely and according to instructions.
  • Use hotel supplies and materials efficiently and safely.
  • Promptly report deficiencies in maintenance that may have a negative effect on guest comfort or maintenance expenses to management.
  • Clean and apply chemicals to the swimming pool, whirlpool tub and surrounding areas.
  • Complete daily work checklists and special project checklists.
  • Respond to repair orders originating from the front desk, housekeeping and management.
  • Report the status of maintenance assignments to the front desk, housekeeping and management.
  • Participate, as instructed, in special projects, including but not limited to, painting, refinishing, plumbing, flooring, wall treatments, landscaping, demolition, construction, electrical, carpentry, refrigeration and other projects.
  • Deliver requested items to guestrooms, such as bedding, pillows, cribs, roll-away beds, towels, light bulbs and supplies when requested by the supervisor or the front-desk staff.
  • Repair and clean furniture, fixtures and equipment in the hotel's guestrooms, public areas, storerooms, offices, workshops, support areas, garage and outdoor areas. Assist management with safety inspections. 13. Secure guestrooms, storerooms and work areas. Secure hotel equipment and supplies.
