Position Description Summary:
This position is for a part-time Engineer. The Engineer will be responsible for support for the Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) Measurement and Verification (M&V) process to assure that implemented projects are generating the guaranteed energy savings, Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) are performing as intended and meeting M&V requirements. This support is primarily for the ESPC program, but can be utilized to support other programs that require M&V.
Essential Job Function
Provide support in performing site visits to witness Energy Service Company’s measurement and verification activities at the installations. Provide support in reviewing and analyzing Post-Installation & Annual M&V reports to determine whether they accurately reflect the savings. Assist with the evaluation of energy-related projects or programs to reduce energy costs or improve energy efficiency. Provide understanding of electrical systems; heating, ventilation, and/or air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. Will require significant travel across the U.S., at least 25% travel.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited college.
Experience:10 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the analysis, design, commissioning, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning of energy efficiency projects.
Skills & Experience: Experience with Energy Savings Programs. Engineering experience with electrical systems; heating, ventilation, and/or air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. Experience with Measurement and Verification a plus.
Certificates: No certifications required. Any of the following certifications are preferred:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) or Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP).
Clearance: None. Must be U.S. Citizen.
