TT Electronics Olathe, Kansas facility, is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of custom magnetic products and assemblies. The Olathe-based site has 65 years experience in the design and development of unique harsh-environment solutions for mission-critical applications.

Role Overview and Responsibilities:

Job Summary

To support the Quality Assurance team with technical expertise and a dedication to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Also, this position requires use of information which is subject to the INternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines as a U.S. Citizen, U.S Permanent Resident (i.e "Green ard Holder"), Policitcal Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Always looks for areas of improvement, leading with a lean mindset.
  • Lives by quality acronyms such as SPC, ISO, FOD, QMS, NADCAP, AS9100, FAI, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Perform duties as lead DQR for all customers, lead CIT for IPC standard training (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001,
  • Perform sales order reviews to ensure customer flow down requirements can be met and generate Quality Control Instructions (QCIs).
  • Leads in the creation and completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and first article inspection paperwork.
  • Lead and coordinate on-site customer source inspections.
  • Maintain training schedules for IPC standards.
  • Participate and/or contribute to site Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects.
  • Leads the site Foreign Object Debris (FOD) & 5-S program.
  • Updates Quality Procedures and documents.
  • Complete customer Quality surveys.
  • Provides Quality KPIs, metrics and reports as needed to leadership team.
  • Trains production operators on workmanship standards. Measure, review, and provide feedback on production processes.
  • Review customer specifications, and work with Engineering to identify materials needed for production.
  • Work with QA, Supply Chain and customers to support researching, sourcing, and assessing the best vendors to supply the necessary materials.
  • Visit vendor facilities to audit when required, and observing the manufacturing environment to review and assess their procedures.
  • Review incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
  • Conduct tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues.
  • Maintain detailed metrics of OTD and DPPM on supplier quality
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
  • Serving as a liaison between our company's management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
  • Performs additional duties as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

Experience & Education

  • Bachelors Degree in an engineering field (electrical, mechanical, industrial, etc.) required.
  • Three to five years of related work experience in manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Experience working with a Tier 1/Prime contractor preferred.
  • Experience working in the Aerospace and Defense industry a plus.
  • Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical expertise.
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people is required.
  • Knowledge of working requirements of ISO 9000: AS9100 quality standards a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience with associated military and aerospace specifications a plus.
  • Computer proficiency--Intermediate level in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Commitment to work with a hands-on approach in a team atmosphere is required.
  • Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
