Job Details

Job Location: Dukes La Jolla - La Jolla, CA
Salary Range: $16.85 Hourly

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for skilled BUSSERS to join the Duke’s La Jolla team! The starting rate is $16.85/hr plus tips (The combined rate is ~$20-$28/hour). We are especially looking for candidates available to work weekends and holidays. A minimum of three days availability is required. Other scheduling availability is subject to review upon application.

No previous work or restaurant experience is required! This is an entry-level position with opportunity to learn and advance into other service roles.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Servers in providing the highest level of quality and service to our guests by being responsible for all preparation, interaction and steps of service needed to exceed guest expectations in the restaurant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assist in preparing restaurant for dining service by setting up section, including polishing and preparing items such as linens, silverware, and glassware before they go to the floor and assisting at setting them at the table.
  • Greet all guests and co-workers in a warm, personal, friendly manner.
  • Assist Service Team as needed by removing dishes and glasses from tables or counters throughout guests’ meal, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
  • After guest has finished dining, prepare table by clearing and cleaning table and resetting for next guest.
  • Assist guests with any requests or concerns and take action to correct any problems.
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as tableware and linens throughout service period.
  • Assist in removing trash from full receptacles and replacing liner.
  • Take extra care to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness in each duty performed.
  • Stock service areas with supplies as required.
  • Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns; personal, employee or guest injury.
  • Follow food safety program guidelines of handwashing, bare hands, hygiene and health.

  • Teamwork Abilities - Ability to work together with a team in a positive manner to achieve a common goal; understand the importance of teamwork with both other bussers and the rest of the staff.
  • Friendly - Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor toward others.
  • Neat and well groomed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • US Work Authorization Required. We use E-Verify to confirm Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Experience: No prior restaurant experience required although useful.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Must take and pass all training tests 90% or higher.
    • California Food Handler Certificate - Must be obtained within 30 days from hire date. Training provided if applicant does not have a valid California Food Handler Certificate.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
