Job Description

T. Baker Smith seeks a qualified Survey – Laser Scanning Project Manager with advanced experience in planning and can perform and direct survey projects for our Industrial Measurement Group out of our Stafford, Texas office.

Your Opportunity:

  • Primarily responsible for full project execution with the assistance of the Lead Professional and project team.
  • Responsible for certain responsibilities related to client management and internal leadership & management.
  • Project managers may supervise project technicians, project assistants, project professionals, and field survey associates.
  • Assist in obtaining legal and/or required documents including landowner rights and survey permission to achieve the scope of the project. Research ownership, right-of-way, and other property issues.
  • Assists Determines methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
  • Directs field data collection.
  • Attends client and public meetings as needed days or nights.
  • Visits project site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Works within the scope of the Project Management Plan (PMP).

Desired Qualifications:

  • College course work or technical training plus three years related technical work experience.
  • Professional certification or licensing in work specialization.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to relate to clients and associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Possess excellent communication, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings and complex documents.
  • Ability to use computer, including business and technical software.
  • Dimensional Control Surveying Experience

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is generally in both a typical office and outside environment and thus, exposed to the noise, dust, smells, and other environmental factors present in such an environment. This position requires travel to visit clients, tour project sites, and other TBS office locations and visit other field locations periodically.
