Busy hospital Transfusion Services. The hospital is a Level 2 trauma center with >500 beds. Transfusion Services completes all pre transfusion testing, post-transfusion work ups as indicated and outpatient orders. Transfusion Services issues blood components (red blood cells, plasma, platelets and cryoprecipitate) to all units in the hospital, including a neonatal intensive care unit. Common testing performed: ABO/Rh, Antibody Screen, Antibody Identification, Antibody Titer, Antigen typing, Electronic Crossmatches, Immediate Spin Crossmatches, IgG Crossmatches, Fetal Screen, Fetal Stain, and Elutions. Also performed in the department are Platelet mappings and Basic TEG’s. Common procedures performed Issuance of blood products, aliquoting blood products into syringes and transfer packs and Massive transfusions. Non-negotiables: -Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Clinical Laboratory Technologist State of Nevada based on licensure criteria. -Recent work history in Transfusion Services. Schedule will be discussed during interview.
