Project Coordinator – San Luis Obispo

Overview:

Works directly with the Director of Construction to help process all permitting and plan tracking/management. Track schedules, and coordinate with WCP staff and trades. Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, and city staff to efficiently process building plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive fees, generate check requests, and pay fees about permitting and operations.
  • Permitting:
    • Responsible for all submittals
    • Track all city comments and responses from consultants.
    • Track all redlines and send out summaries to purchasing and trades as necessary
    • Pay all fees and manage all check requests
    • Review lot-specific sets for accurate plan type, elevation, and color schemes
  • This could include travel to cities and other municipalities may be required.
  • Provide support to the field supervisors and superintendents.
  • Assist Superintendents by generating start packages and providing them to the team before the start, which may include release sheets, addresses, copies of plans, spec sheets, options, etc. Also, the ordering of construction signage, plans, setting up safety, first aid/CPR training, etc.
  • Prepare for, assist, and attend all meetings pertaining to operations.
  • Set up Utility accounts and applications.
  • Set up and monitor on-site safety per community. This will include performing on-site safety audits.
  • Contract all new projects with specialty consultants for items such as Construction observation,
  • SWPPP consultants, waste, SMARTs, CHEERS, etc.
  • Manage Dropbox/Buildpro folders for construction. This includes creating accounts for new hires and updating files as needed.

Education and Additional Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of administrative work
  • Comfort level working near a construction site
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to at times, lift 15 pounds
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday
