Behavior Analysts (Part-Time) -Greenwood Interprofessional Autism Center
Job Responsibilities
Truman State University is seeking part-time Behavior Analysts (BCBA) for the Greenwood Interprofessional Autism Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
The preferred candidate will work on-site at Greenwood, but candidates seeking a remote or hybrid work arrangement will also be considered. Candidate must be licensed in the state of Missouri prior to start date.
The University is open to various part-time work arrangements, Salary will be adjusted to reflect this work arrangement and will be commensurate with experience.
The Behavior Analysts have primary responsibility for patient treatment including supervision of the Behavior Technician(s) and coordination of care with other members of the treatment team for their assigned caseload.
The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the duties and responsibilities that will be required of the position, but additional responsibilities may also be assigned.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONSANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment and Treatment
  • Conducts skill-based, preference and reinforcer, and behavioral assessments as indicated by the presentation of the patient and makes appropriate recommendations for treatment based on results
  • Prepares individualized treatment and behavior support plans
  • Incorporates patient and caregiver/family preferences in developing comprehensive and meaningful plan of care
  • Includes external stakeholders and other members of the treatment plan in the assessment and planning process
  • Provides ongoing guidance to caregivers to ensure they are well-versed on the patient’s plan of care and identified interventions
  • Modifies interventions as needed to match the pace of patient progress
  • Prepares progress reports
  • Assists with performance evaluations for behavior therapists
Support and Direction of Behavior Therapists
  • Provides individualized training to behavior therapists to ensure they are prepared to succeed
  • Provides feedback to Behavior Therapists on job performance, including strengths and areas of growth
  • Conducts competency-based evaluations as directed
Professionalism
  • Protects the privacy and security of the patient’s protected health or other personally identifiable information (PHI and PII)
  • Maintains licensure or certification or makes adequate progress towards completion of the requirements for licensure or certification
  • Maintains ongoing communication with supervisor and colleagues. Discusses problems or concerns with supervisor as appropriate. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings
  • Completes all documentation accurately and timely (e.g., session notes, treatment plans, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Demonstrates effective organizational and time management qualities to meet necessary timelines
  • Maintains positive communication with families, members of the treatment team, external stakeholders, and supervisor by returning phone calls and emails within 24 hours; informing supervisor as soon as possible when unable to keep a scheduled appointment or other change of plans; informing supervisor immediately of any important concerns pertaining to assigned caseload
  • Maintains appropriate professional boundaries when working with families and other stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum education and experience as required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to obtain board certification at the master’s level
  • Board certification with the BACB
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Comfortable to learn new technologies (such as practice management or data collection software)
  • Must be able to physically assist patients during an emergency
  • Independent transportation to locations not served by public transportation
  • May be required or requested to physically assist patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, or self-care tasks
