Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) or the ability to obtain the proper endorsement(s) via a state program. Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods. Strong background in the integration of technology with instruction. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment. Work well with students, staff and the public. Special Instructions: The Idaho Youth ChalleNGe Academy (IDYCA) is Idaho's premier academic intervention for at-risk youth. The ideal candidate will have a desire to work with at-risk youth who live in a residential setting. IDYCA provides excellent staff support for academics, handling the majority of discipline and parent/guardian interaction. Teamwork is emphasized in getting these Idaho at-risk youth prepared to return to school and/or the workforce. The selected candidate will be expected to accomplish all program specific training in a timely manner. Candidates with additional certification areas will be preferable. Applicants must be proficient in oral and written communication, and have a solid understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Classroom applications. The School District uses the Skyward student management system. IDYCA operates on an alternate calendar than the local school district with 14 additional and compensated contract days. We have two 22-week sessions per year running roughly mid-July through December and mid -January through June which includes additional staff training. Teachers average a 5-6 weeks of vacation between sessions. The Applicant will receive a contract for an additional 14 days with additional compensation.
