Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Orthotic Grinder to join our team. In this role, you will operate machinery and hand tools to grind, smooth, and polish plastic components to prepare them for final assembly.

Duties:

• Use hand and power tools to grind, sand, clean and polish plastic components to correct specifications or to prepare surfaces for further finishing.
• Trim, scrape, or deburr parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment.
• Inspect finished parts by utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to ensure quality standards are met.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Comply, encourage, and support all safety rules and regulations.
• Comply with safety practices.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.

Education and/or Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.

Skills & Qualifications That Will Make You Successful

• Ability to control hands and arms as necessary to produce quality finished products.
• Ability to adjust the controls of a machine quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
• Conduct tests and inspections of products to evaluate quality and performance.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facility.
• Walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Near vision acuity
• Work performed in a manufacturing setting.
• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• May be exposed to high noise, dust, odors, and fumes.
