The Data Governance Consultant is responsible for supporting Data Governance across the enterprise, enabling business growth while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory expectations. The position partners with various business and technology stakeholders to influence and drive adoption of related Enterprise Data Management strategies, policies, standards and control frameworks. The role evaluates established and emerging data practices and technologies to drive the team's direction, while implementing innovative processes and solutions to provide competitive advantage while meeting rigorous control and oversight mandates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and maintain Enterprise Data Management and Governance policies, standards, and processes. Create and implement processes and procedures to support data standards and control frameworks.2. Provide subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of data management activities such as data sourcing, metadata management, data quality, data privacy or records management.
3. Supports solution design and execution of multi-pronged data governance efforts that span across platforms and business/technology areas to address enterprise data needs.4. Implement strategic data governance capabilities by working with business, technology, and control partners to document requirements and create action plans.5. Perform oversight and inspection of critical data management practices for adherence to established data policies and control frameworks.
6. Identify data issues and work with technology, risk and business partners to triage, track, communicate, mitigate and remediate the issues to closure.
7. Support the production of metrics and measures to track progress and adherence, escalating as needed to appropriate subject matter experts for visibility and program accountability.8. Understand and integrate relevant regulations and industry trends into work plans, exploring emerging frameworks and assessing feasibility using proof of concepts.
9. Collaborate closely with peer teams and control partners to ensure coordination, synergy and seamless overall execution.10. Champion and drive improvement in the adoption of enterprise data management practices throughout the organization.

11. Supports a multi-year roadmap outlining organizational strategy to promote transparency and alignment with stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in related field, eight years of experience in roles with increasing responsibilities in technology, data management, governance, risk or related practice or equivalent education and related training or experience

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Eight years of experience in roles with increasing responsibilities in technology, data management, governance, risk or related practice or equivalent education and related training or experience is critical to this role2. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other graduate or advanced-level certification
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills4. Ability to drive alignment on technical policies and experience with standard writing responses to regulatory and exam requests

5. Knowledge of data management tools and platforms used for managing metadata, data lineage, data quality, scanning, classification, and/or tagging (e.g., Alation, Manta, Ataccama, PKWare, or similar technologies)

6. Data Governance and/or Data Management Certifications (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), ICCP Certified Data Governance Professional, DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification)

7. Large program strategic planning/execution across multiple functions
8. History of effective performance within shared service, matrix or federated environments
9. Internal or external consulting experience

10. Working knowledge of any enterprise grade GRC platform (i.e., Archer, ServiceNow GRC, MetricStream, IBM OpenPages, etc.) 11. Experience with formalized organizational assessment practices (e.g. Capability Maturity Model), including implementation of recommended improvements

12. Experience using and/or implementing cloud data storage technologies (e.g., AWS or similar technologies) or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner)13. Knowledge of data tools and platforms used for managing, storing, querying, testing, loading and transforming data (e.g., SAS, Informatica, Oracle, Teradata)
