- Perform regular inspections of the building’s interior and exterior to identify necessary repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC system checks.
- Repair or replace defective equipment and systems, including lighting, heating, cooling, and plumbing fixtures.
- Maintain and service doors, windows, and other structural elements.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity and efficiency of building systems.
- Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, paper bailer ensuring they are operating efficiently and effectively.
- General building maintenance which may include painting, plumbing, pneumatical work, metal working, and carpentry.
- Inspect and test safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting,
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety checks and keep records of inspections and maintenance performed.
- Respond promptly to building emergencies, such as leaks, power outages, and safety hazards, ensuring the safety of all occupants.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms for events and meetings, including arranging furniture and equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering new stock as needed.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and services, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Respond to maintenance requests from building occupants in a timely and courteous manner.
- Communicate effectively with the plant engineer and occupants to ensure maintenance issues are resolved satisfactorily.
- Vocational training or certification in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a building maintenance role, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
- Strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication
- Attendance and the ability to follow instructions is a top priority.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting to 75 lbs objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures and outdoor weather.
