Major Goals & Purpose

The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting office and field teams in the overall success of the construction projects assigned. The Project Coordinator must possess the appropriate knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the TrueNorth team, subcontractors, design professionals, consultants, and client. The Project Coordinator must also provide appropriate support and guidance to the TrueNorth field teams and Subcontractors in the field coordinating the work in accordance with the contract documents. In conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent assumes overall responsibility and accountability for all factors contributing to the success of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in the project
  • Collaborate effectively with the TrueNorth team to meet all organizational objectives
  • Promote safety above all other objectives on the job site for all participants in the project when on the job site in coordination with other TrueNorth team members
  • Work with the Project Manager to develop a clear understanding of expectations and objectives for the project and ensure that information is clearly communicated to all parties
  • Support development of an accurate estimate by collaborating with the Project Manager, Subcontractors and Vendors to gather accurate costs and schedules for the project that meets the client requirements
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections
  • Support as needed all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control and a clean site
  • Work in partnership with Project Manager and Superintendent to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project
  • Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors instilling this philosophy in the project team at all times
  • Participate as needed in procurement and buyout of subcontractors including communicating scope, creating and reviewing subcontracts
  • Support the appropriate utilization, procurement and scheduling of subcontractors, labor, materials, equipment and other resources for the project
  • Provide solutions to solve problems or increase value to the project to meet or exceed expectations for the project
  • Effectively support the communication of project details including daily job reports, RFI’s, change order requests, submittals, permits, drawing addendums and other necessary documentation
  • Review drawings and all other pertinent project documents for accuracy, constructability, error or omissions and resolve as necessary
  • Support any owner, landlord, city/state requirements or procedures to avoid project delays, ensure safety, and/or ensure client satisfaction
  • Ensure quality of work and materials meets or exceeds all specifications, design and overall client and company objectives
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordinating the self-punch list to result in zero punch turn-over and closeout
  • Participate in weekly meetings at the job site with all working on the job site and various subcontractor, client and company progress meetings as necessary
  • Support meeting project and profit objectives for the company and appropriately measure this success by completing and verifying accuracy of the job costing
  • This role may include travel to job sites and include hands on opportunities in trade work with our field supervisors
  • May include work in our warehouse to facilitate project and organizational needs with hands on activities
  • Uphold and exemplify a high standard of ethics, integrity and core values of the company
  • Actively participate in development of self, others, and company specified training or initiatives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Pursuing a degree in a Construction related field including but not limited to Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology
  • Familiarity with construction processes and terminology
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed and satisfy all customers internal and external
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ability to pay close attention to the important details of each project
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally and maintain a positive attitude, treating all people with respect
  • Proven experience in building strong relationships with clients and other project partners
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills and able to manage multiple priorities and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Project
  • Able to travel to projects on a frequent basis, at times on a weekly basis
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
