TRUE Youth Florida is Hiring a School Cafeteria Worker (Westside Location) Near Jacksonville, FL
TRUE Youth is looking for a dedicated and reliable Cafeteria Food Service Worker for our camp cafeteria. This candidate will be part of a great team that is always looking to improve the student's breakfast and lunch experience. Applicants must enjoy working in a school setting and provide a positive and uplifting meal experience. Our goal at TRUE Youth is to always provide students with the best 30 minutes of their day!
This is a part-time position located in Jacksonville, FL 32204.
Mandatory Training: TBD
Program Dates: June 10 - July 26, 2024
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
The ideal candidate for the position of Cafeteria Food Service Worker will possess the following qualities:
- Previous food service experience with Chartwell strongly preferred.
The responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing commercial kitchen equipment in the preparation of menu items
- Monitoring food at serving areas for fresh appearance and proper holding temperatures
- Assisting in serving food on the service line
- Washing dishes and utensils, as well as cleaning the food service area during and after service
Requirements-
- Pass a level 2 background check that will include fingerprinting
- Diligent with following food safety requirements
- Self-starter- Can-do attitude!
- Ability to read a recipe and follow measurement guidelines
- HS Diploma or GED
- Previous food service experience is required.
- Team player with a positive and upbeat attitude
- Have a reliable form of transportation
- Basic computer skills- For Café Managers
- Willing to obtain food safety certification- A Plus if you have SERV Safe
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of 30lbs
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week

- Food preparation: 2 years (Required)

- ServSafe Food Handler (Preferred)
