We are searching for a Continuous Improvement Manager. The selected candidate will join our client's senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in driving process engineering, analytical, quality control, and assurance initiatives. They will lead by example, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements while fostering a culture of safety engagement. Additionally, the Continuous Improvement Manager will develop and maintain quality systems, processes, and standards, driving continuous improvement efforts across the organization. They will also oversee compliance with ISO certification requirements and manage the document management system.

Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in analytical and quality-related roles, with a focus on manufacturing.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience, coupled with formal quality training.
  • Expertise in statistical process control theory and procedures.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and practical experience are imperative.
  • Proven track record of critical thinking, problem-solving, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Essential Duties

  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental compliance, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive training and guidance to enhance safety engagement and mitigate environmental risks.
  • Oversee product testing, evaluation, certification, and identification processes to meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Address product quality issues promptly, collaborating closely with Operations personnel.
  • Maintain the precision and integrity of procedures and instruments used in directed work.
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality systems, processes, policies, and standards.
  • Establish and execute an internal audit system, including layered process audits, and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, including the dissemination of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Effectively manage departmental budgets to ensure operations stay within approved limits.
  • Maintain and update technical documents and files while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Compile and distribute reports on plant quality performance and departmental activities, including key performance indicators.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in fostering technical proficiency across all functions within the organization.
  • Manage both operating and capital budgets for the department efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and uphold certification standards.
  • Oversee the accuracy and upkeep of the document management control system.
  • Travel domestically, around 20%.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
