Description

Open position in all True Media office locations including Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, St. Louis MO, and Minneapolis, MN; Hybrid work schedule: in office/remote.

The Associate Media Director, Planning is responsible for the vision and strategic direction for the assigned True Media client teams as measured by the performance of the client profitability, retention and client feedback. Manage multiple lines of business within a single client relationship or manage multiple clients through the ability to understand client marketing and business objectives; guide the development of high-level strategic plans and monitor efforts to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets. Vertical Teams are defined by clients who share similar business lines or models (e.g. healthcare, agriculture/rural markets, finance, agency-based partnerships) and can include Client Strategist, Associate, Client Strategy Supervisors and others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities. (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Media Brief -Hands on with each client's planning process to ensure quality Media Brief including and the details required for other teams within True Independent Holdings to innovate and activate. Ensure True Process and best practices are utilized across assigned accounts or modified to meet needs of client and other internal teams.
  • Research - Lead proper research and audience analysis for vertical and guarantee delivery to both the Client and Activation Strategy. Work with the management team to make recommendations on research tools, software or other products which will improve True Media's ability to provide best in class services.
  • Measurement Strategy - Support vertical clients in the planning process to ensure a sound measurement strategy, laddering to business goals, is laid out, collaboration is occurring with key True Independent Holdings stakeholders and client alignment is secured.
  • Channel Strategy - Support assigned Client Strategists in creating Channel Strategy that supports the measurement strategy and garner client approval. Clearly articulate/collaborate with Activation Strategy to ensure a smooth process into the tactical plan.
  • Client Relationship - Lead and Maintain key client relationships and accounts. Responsible for key checkpoints in all clients reporting into them: Media Brief, Research/Audience Analysis; Measurement Strategy and Channel Strategy and supporting in the communication with tactical plan transition with Activation team. Assist with contracts and budgets in coordination with VP, Client Development. Successfully Onboard new clients to ensure that media campaigns align with marketing objectives and set KPIs. Manage workflow, deadlines, creative partners, account liaisons, and other external teams to ensure client needs are met. Involvement with Client Satisfaction survey.
  • Revenue - Review budget reports to ensure revenue and income is maximized. Optimize existing talent while providing growth among team members. Drive organic growth opportunities. Participate in new business opportunities. Accountable for profitability of vertical clients including contract familiarity and implementation such as billable functions, scopes, etc.
  • Proactively and collaboratively work with cross-departmental teams to uncover opportunities for increased efficiencies and/or revenue opportunities with existing clients, as well as pitch new ideas and opportunities.
  • Present agency media planning capabilities and processes to prospective clients. Identify opportunities to showcase agency expertise that could lead to new business.
  • When appropriate, assists with new business pitches, using level of expertise and client experience to expand True Media's client base.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Eight to ten years in related agency media experience, including effective supervisory experience.
  • Proficient with industry tools and systems. Demonstrate a high level of understanding of media fundamentals, including planning, buying, interactive and social, media math, audience development and communication goals.
  • History of effective management of both direct reports and indirect reports contributing to assigned client portfolio, as well as high-level management of account and client management and relationship building as well as understanding and translating business goals into media measurement and channel strategy.

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, degree or concentration in advertising, marketing or communications preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
