Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the proper recording of transactions to the General Ledger. This requires performing accounting functions such as payroll processing and cash reconciliation. In addition, the Staff Accountant may assist in the month-end close processes, which includes the preparation and recording of journal entries.
Position Expectations and Responsibilities:
Process biweekly payroll and review reports for accuracy.
Download biweekly and quarterly payroll reports.
Import payrolls into accounting system.
Make 403(b) contributions and loan payments.
Complete monthly reconciliation of benefits related balance sheet accounts.
Process bank reconciliations daily and monthly
Produce weekly and monthly provider productivity reports to management
Review and reconcile daily cash receipts from all sites and Billing.
Prepare journal entries and enter into accounting system.
Research any problems and discrepancies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of experience in accounting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk or view a computer screen for extended periods of time
Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
Ability to reach with hands or arms
Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
Ability to effectively talk and listen to patients
