Job Description: Dentist

JOB SUMMARY

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, examining and treating diseases and injuries of teeth and gums. Performs preventative and comprehensive dentistry and educates the patient in proper tooth and periodontal care. Recommends orthodontics or oral surgery to correct any malformations.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Examine Patients
  • Record History
  • Adhere to proper charting protocols
  • Order or execute radiographs as needed
  • Evaluate radiographs, diagnose, and compose treatment plan
  • Prescribe treatment and medications as needed
  • Refer to specialist as required
  • Perform comprehensive dental treatment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Doctoral degree, D.D. S. or D.M.D.
  • Must have and maintain current Florida License in good standing
  • Must have and maintain current DEA license in good standing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work well with people.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual a plus (English / Spanish)

RELATIONSHIP REPORTING

  • Reports to the Director of Dental

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Be able to sit, stand, or view a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
  • Be able to use hand and fingers to handle or feel
  • Be able to reach with hands and arms
