Position: Material Handler - Countertop Fabricator

Job Description:

As a Material Handler in our countertop fabrication company, you play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials throughout the production process. You will be responsible for handling, organizing, and transporting various materials needed for countertop fabrication, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Material Handling:
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, including stone slabs, countertops and other supplies.
• Safely handle and transport materials within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as necessary.
• Organize materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper inventory management and efficient use of space.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials from delivery trucks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Production Support:
• Deliver materials to production areas according to production schedules and work orders.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure they have the necessary materials and supplies to meet production targets.
• Assist in preparing and staging materials for production.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
• Properly store hazardous materials and follow procedures for handling and disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Quality Assurance:
• Inspect materials for defects, damage, or irregularities, and report any issues to supervisors.
• Ensure materials are stored and handled in a manner that preserves their quality and integrity.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in material handling, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Basic understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and recording inventory data.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to material handling and storage is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in material handling is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
