Overview:

TRS Healthcare is seeking an experienced and driven Registered Nurse (RN) leader to fulfill the role of Surgery Unit Coordinator for one of our clients in Northeast Arkansas. This pivotal position entails overseeing all facets of surgery, encompassing Inpatient Surgery, Ambulatory, GI, and Outpatient surgery units. The Unit Coordinator will play a crucial role in program development, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement in a collaborative interdisciplinary manner. Responsibilities include staff assignment and direction with accountability, necessitating the use of independent judgment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a steadfast commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of surgery units, including Inpatient Surgery, Ambulatory, GI, and Outpatient surgery.
  • Contribute to program development, problem-solving, and productivity enhancement in an interdisciplinary manner.
  • Assign and direct staff with accountability for their performance.
  • Utilize independent judgment in decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend and prepare moderately complex written materials such as meeting minutes and reports.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in working with patients across all age groups, from neonates/infants to geriatrics.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualifications, including nursing knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and Outlook/email usage.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and compliance with JC, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Aptitude for independent problem-solving or collaborative team-based solutions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Active Arkansas RN License or Equivalent
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience.
