Overview:

TRS Healthcare is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Quality and Risk management for one of our clients in Northeast Arkansas. The Director of Quality and Risk Management plays a critical role in ensuring organizational compliance with regulatory agency guidelines while spearheading quality improvement and risk management initiatives. This position involves assigning and directing staff, exercising independent judgment, and maintaining a steadfast commitment to continuous quality improvement. Oversight of Joint Commission Standards and adherence to reporting parameters outlined in federal and state requirements are also key responsibilities. The Director leads a cross-departmental team in implementing strategies to enhance quality of care and mitigate risk across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with activities and guidelines of regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate organizational quality improvement and risk management activities.
  • Utilize independent judgment in decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Oversee adherence to Joint Commission Standards.
  • Implement reporting parameters outlined in federal and state requirements.
  • Lead a cross-departmental team in quality and risk management initiatives.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Skill in investigating compliance issues and providing strategies to mitigate these issues.
  • Effective communication skills with fellow employees, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Prepared by education, training, or experience to work with patients/clients of all ages, including neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Proficiency in performing duties of a Registered Nurse, applying nursing knowledge and problem-solving techniques.
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, Outlook/email.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles, including compliance with Joint Commission (JC), State, and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to solve problems independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials such as meeting minutes and reports.

Education/Experience:

  • Active Arkansas RN License or equivalent.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required.
  • CPHQ Certification preferred.
