Troy Clogg Landscape Associates is Hiring a Lawn Care Foreman Near Wixom, MI

Summary:

The Lawn Foreman oversees a lawn crew. The Foreman is in charge of the crew’s daily activities and assisting with work.

Essential Functions:

· Show up – Care about others – Have Fun (#1 Priority)

· Direct the activities of all employees reporting to him / her in a manner to make the most effective use of their time and talents to ensure schedules are met.

· Plan, in coordination with the Lawn Supervisor and Manager, each job, and set up the most effective and efficient manner.

· Review schedule with Lawn Supervisor and Manager. Be aware of any “skips”, special notes, etc...

· Provide fair, effective leadership and build a spirit of teamwork within the department.

· Live by the TCLA values/morals “Purpose Driven Life”….share it

· Responsible for meeting Troy Clogg Landscape Associates quality standards.

· Drive Lawn Crew to sites in company vehicle

· Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe manner and all work areas are safe and left in a clean, neat and orderly condition.

· Ensure adequate materials, supplies, and tools are on hand to complete each job.

· Train employees reporting to him / her in the proper performance of all activities in accordance with company established techniques, procedures, and training requirements. Provide technical assistance to employees when required.

· Ensure each job is working within the established budget.

· Communicate each day with the Lawn Supervisor and Manager job status, problems, and needs.

· Assign work to employees, and follow up on assignments for completeness and quality.

· Load trailers and trucks. Oversee placement of equipment and supplies, and ensure all equipment loaded on trailers and trusts are secured by chains / straps, or equivalent.

· Maintain customer lawns with lawn equipment such as push behind mowers, ride-on mowers, walk behind mowers, power/stick edgers, line trimmers, backpack blowers, etc…

· Relate to customers, as required, in a courteous and professional manner.

· Tow trailers to job sites.

· Take physical inventories as required.

· Prepare and maintain accurately, all records and reports that may be required.

· Ensure all equipment is in good working order and meets safety requirements.

· Change mower blades daily. Sharpen blades.

· Wash truck, trailer and equipment and keep clean and orderly.

· Advise Lawn Manager and/or Shop Manager on appropriate form of needed equipment and vehicle repairs.

· Purchase gasoline as required. Protect company credit cards.

· Oversee and enforce safety requirements and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

People:

This position oversees the work of an assigned lawn crew. They are responsible for assigning tasks to individual team members and ensuring that all team members are working in a safe and productive manner.

Processes:

This position oversees the manner in which each lawn is cut, the order in which operations are performed and plans routes.

Work Environment:

The majority of the work is done outside. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

This position requires the use of safety equipment such as but not limited to work boots, ear protection, gloves, eye protection, etc…

Indoor work will be in an office environment or in a shop setting. While in the shop setting they can be exposed to loud noises, fumes and moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.

Required Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Experience in managing a crew of laborers. Previous landscaping experience of 2-5 years.

Eligibility Qualifications:

Required: valid Chauffeur’s license

Preferred: CDL License, LIC (Landscape Industry Certified)

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
