JOB SUMMARY
Overseas and manages the repair and maintenance programs covering Tropical's fleet of vessels.
- Manages voyage repairs.
- Manages preventative maintenance program covering Tropical's vessels.
- Manages contracted service for designated equipment or repair.
- Fills in for General Manager during his or her absence.
- Coordinates with General Manager to schedule periodic dry-docking.
- Attends and supervises all ships' dry-docking.
- Cooperates with Crew Agent in the movement and placement of vessel officers and personnel.
- Supervises on-going survey program.
- Responds to emergency calls after normal working hours as necessary.
- Prepares and submits annual repair and maintenance budget and standards.
- Prepares and submits five-year long term budget with annual revision update.
- Prepares expense budgets for engineering and marine requirements.
- Develop and lays out bid specs for periodic dry-docking of vessel.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Seven to ten years engineering/shipyard. One year as Chief Engineer
of Motor Vessels, sailing at sea.
LICENSE: Chief Engineer's License of Motor Vessels. Valid Local Driver's License and Valid Passport.
TRAVEL: Various Tropical locations.
