Tropic Shores Resort in Daytona Beach Shores is a beach front resort now hiring for full time Maintenance. We are looking for an experienced, energetic team player to join our staff. Tropic Shores is an 80 unit Time Share Resort that is one of the best on the beach. We have great benefits for full time employees. We offer paid health insurance, 401k, PTO and more. Pay day is weekly and compensation is based off experience. Must be able to pass background check, work weekends and Thursday Friday evening shift 3-11pm. General Purpose of the job

Performs routine and extensive preventive maintenance and repair procedures on Resort building mechanical equipment, and utility systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Reports to Maintenance Supervisor
• Maintain general units, common areas, pool/pool areas and grounds as required
• Provide excellent guest services skills at all times
• Monitor parking lot and vehicles for parking violations
• Learn resort software and be able to post and retrieve transactions as necessary
• Competences in plumbing and electronic repair
• Maintain and categorize records and work request and materials used
• Perform preventive maintenance on all aspects of units, common areas and grounds as required
• Repair/replace doors, windows, walls, floor, ceilings, roofs, furniture, cabinetry and remodeling work as required
• Perform plumbing maintenance such as pipes, drains, faucets, disposals, and showers using methods that include soldering, brazing silver, PVC, CPVC and fittings
• Reset/replace breakers, ballast and other electoral fixtures including switches and sockets; prevent and trouble shoot possible electric hazards
• Working knowledge of appliances
• Repair interior walls, wall covering and ceilings by patching drywall, replace wood or wall coverings or texture and painting
• Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit’s service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team
• Make sure all safety procedures are carried out
• Cross train with all departments function in order to cover during absences
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Resort Manager

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required to be eligible for position

• Principles, methods and materials used in a variety of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electrical installation, maintenance and repair work
• Operation and maintenance of a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
• Safe work methods and safety regulations
• Basic practices and equipment of the plumbing, welding, and carpentry trades
• Basic record keeping
• Basic job estimation and principles and practices
• Estimating necessary materials and equipment to complete assignments
• Maintain accurate records of work preformed
• Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines
• Contributing effectively to the accomplishments of team or work unit goals and objectives
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work
• Resort/Hotel experience preferred'
