Summary

The Distribution Supervisor will provide comprehensive transportation, warehousing and distribution management of finished goods in support of customer service and sales in North, Central and South America. The position will also provide support to plant operations with regards to raw material movements as needed. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and improving procedures to ensure that all logistics activities are processed in a cost-effective manner while meeting all customer service requirements. The position will manage 5-6 direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage allocation of finished products to customers.
• Ensure the order to delivery process is achieved at the lowest cost to the customer.
• Ensure all containers, trucks, and railcars (if applicable) are loaded as planned.
• Respond quickly and effectively to queries and complaints from customers regarding the logistics processes, including complaints regarding carriers.
• Analyze the performance of all carriers to optimize customer satisfaction.
• Comply with laws and regulations regarding all elements of logistics and product movement.
• Coordinate with TSSL on the sales of Off Spec Production.
• Manage finished goods inventory at respective warehouse locations, including the replenishment of inventory.
• Interface with local warehouse management to ensure the safety and accuracy of inventory including the ability to meet logistics requirements.
• Participate with Purchasing and Corporate Logistics in tenders/quotes for logistics services.
• Support Corporate Logistics on service providers bid processes, network optimization, etc.
• Participate in the development of the Logistics budget and monitoring and meeting the Logistics budget.
• Develop proposals for improving product availability, controlling inventory costs and optimizing the inventory flow of goods within the organization and to customers.
• Work cross-functionally (production, sales, customer service, and global logistics) on improvement initiatives.
• Exhibit expert level knowledge of SAP and a thorough understanding of the impact on other systems and users within the company.
• Trained as a functional backup for the Distribution Coordinator II & Distribution Manager.
• Take ownership of the assigned project and manage them with minimal direction.
• Analyze processes to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Manage priorities effectively and lead the team to meet deadlines.

• Responsible for the management of finished goods warehouse operations for their region including any third party resources.
• Responsible for the maintenance of railcars and the number of railcars required.

Knowledge and Experience

• Technical degree with advanced degree in business is preferred
• Heavy experience in business to business markets (e.g. 10 years)
• Significant experience in account management (e.g. 5 years) or technical sales is preferred
• Understand drivers in sales organization for profit growth
• Self-driven and highly motivated
