Job Description

Troll is seeking a QUALITY BENCH TECHNICIAN, who is ready to fine-tune their career. At Troll Systems you will test, tune and troubleshoot all products, from printed circuit boards to motors and mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet specifications. This position works closely with Engineering to ensure that product specifications are well defined and met. This includes not only working with the physical products, but also working on support documentation, such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Test criteria, Quality Work Instructions and ensuring the completion and accuracy of Work Orders to certify they meet specification.

RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS

In the first three months, a successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully use all standart test equipment, including DVM's, oscilloscopes, noise-figure meters, spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers.
  • Prove the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies to the component level.
  • Demonstrate the understanding of Troll's documentation and revision system, i.e., Work Orders, ECR/ECN"s, Work Instructions, ATP's.
  • Develop a working knowledge of various electronic, and microwave assemblies, such as block down converters, antennas and switching power supplies.
  • Demonsrate above average abilities as an initiative-taker with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Prove experience in soldering and crimping - certificationin either or both areas is a plus.

In the first six months, a successful candidate will:

  • Develop a working knowledge of Troll's current line of RF products to be able to assist in testing, tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully use microwave and RF test equipment including RF power meters, microwave signal generators and vector signal analyzers.
  • Demonsrate the ability to test, tune and troubleshooot Troll's current line of other RF components and electronic assemblies (including printed circuit boards), such as block down converters, antennas, power supply boards, serial, Ethernet and 12C, communication and distrbution boards and servo control boards.
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision

In the first twelve months, a successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of measuring output power, DC power consumption, spectral content and gain of Troll's current line of products.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assist Systems Engineering with testing, tuning and troubleshooting Troll's standard product lines, antennas, microwave radios, etc.

Requirements: Must have experiencew in the Aerospace industry as an Electronics Technician. Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS), ASQ Certified Quality Technican (CQT), IPC-610 (PCB Inspection), IPC-620 (Cable, Wire and Harness Inspection) and IPC J-STD-001 (Soldering Inspection) perferred.
