Job Summary:
The Ambassador is the key contact person between the Food & Nutrition Department and the patient, and must always remember that they serve as an ambassador for all the hardworking employees behind the scenes. The Ambassador position is responsible for obtaining meal orders and delivering meals to patients, following the approved method of service after confirming patient’s identity per facility policy. The morning and evening Ambassador serving will stock the pantry areas per par levels and maintain the dry goods in a neat and clean manner (Med Surg; ICU: ED; Short Stay). The Ambassadors need to maintain a friendly and cheerful demeanor at all times.
Ambassador will need to perform basic food preparation in food production areas. (Includes job titles such as Salad Maker, Vegetable Preparer, Cook’s Helper, Dessert Preparer, etc.). Typically requires some food service training or experience.
Operates cash register and makes transactions. May fill in charge slips for supplies. Balances daily receipts. Records cafeteria receipts. May replenish supplies. Will requires basic mathematical and communication skills to patients, nursing and dieticians.
Serves and portions food for patients. May include duties in dish-room and/or floor pantries, expediting or cafeteria. Typically requires some food service training or experience.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Licensures/ Certifications:
Washington Food Handlers Card .
Experience:
Two years in customer service/food industry.
Skills and Abilities:
Computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word knowledge is desired. Stocking, Patient Facing Orders, Negotiation/De-escalation skills, Room Service, High Level Computer Skills
