Job Summary and Qualifications

The Surgery Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of her/his unit. They serve as liaison between staff and administrative personnel. Works cohesively with Director to develop standards and procedures for providing care and improve quality. Promotes strong and effective working relationships with other departments within the facility. Responsible for oversight of unit from a budgetary stance as well as maintaining timekeeping system, schedules, and accountability records for direct reports. Works closely with supply chain to manage and control costs.

What you will do in this role:

• In this role, you will develop performance plans, identify performance issues, and manage performance and career development of direct reports.

• You will approve and contribute to In-service education programs.
• Your role manages and coordinates staffing schedules to ensure proper and safe coverage while maintaining budget requirements.
• You will coordinate quality efforts for unit and maintains any company wide goals aligned with the unit.
• Your role performs daily rounding in unit/s to ensure patient and surgeon satisfaction are met as well as visually monitoring employee performance.
• Your role investigates, resolves, and documents resolution of complaints or incidents concerning patients.
• You will maintain knowledge and follow all TJC, CMS requirements.
• You will successfully complete annual review and competencies on all employees.
• You will continually look for performance improvement initiatives.

• Current Registered Nurse licensure
• Bachelor’s degree is required (or in process of obtaining)
• Three to five years experience in field of supervision
• Three to five years of experience in a supervisory/managerial role
• Computer Skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• BLS Required
• CPI required and kept current per hospital requirements
• ACLS EP preferred
• Specialty certification preferred
