Job Summary and Qualifications

The Tower Central Sterile Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of the Sterile Processing unit. Serves as liaison between staff and administrative personnel. Works cohesively with Director to develop standards and procedures for providing care and improving quality and efficiencies. Promotes strong and effective working relationships with other departments within the facility. Responsible for oversight of unit from a budgetary stance as well as maintaining timekeeping system, schedules, and accountability records for direct reports. Maintains unit as survey ready, complying with Joint Commission standards. Works closely with supply chain to manage and control costs.

What you will do in this role:

• As the Central Sterile Manager, you will promote customer service initiatives.
• You will function in all areas of department pertaining to the processing and sterilization or reusable instruments and supplies.
• You will understand principles and demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, assembling, packaging, sterilization and storage procedures.
• You will demonstrate knowledge of sterilizer testing and recording of results.
• Your role assumes responsibility for employee, physician and patient satisfaction.
• You will assume responsibility for standards of practice and quality of care.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years experience in field of supervision or role developing or monitoring quality control and/or standards of practice
• 3 years in supervisory/managerial role
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• BLS required
• Specialty certification (CSPT) preferred for hire and required within 2 years of accepting position.
