The Senior Staff Accountant position is accountable to assist in day-to-day accounting operations, to include the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and ensure that recorded results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Senior Accountant position reports to the Accounting Supervisor. An outstanding Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting and accrual-based accounting
• HIGHLY preferred Accrual based accounting in Healthcare/Medical Field experience with increasing responsibilities and ledger accounting

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to accurately apply and use financial and accounting concepts.

• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-lookups, etc.).
• Experience with other Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills
• High attention to detail

• Healthcare experience & Intercompany accounting a plus.
• Saage Intact experience is preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Assist Accounts Payable Specialist as needed with all Accounts Payable functions including but not limited to vendor records, entering invoices, monitoring emails, Form W-9 updates, annual Form 1099 processing, accuracy of recorded invoices, etc.
• Accounts Receivable: Assist Accounts Receivable Specialist as needed with all Accounts, Receivable functions including but not limited to cash receipts, cash allocations, cash reconciliations, check deposits, etc.
• Lease Accounting: Assist in maintaining iLeasePro software for new leases and ensure proper entries are posted to accounting software.

• Monthly GL Close/Balance Sheet Accounts: Assist with reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly, review for input accuracy and prepare monthly report and journal entries, as needed. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Provide support to Accounting Manager during month end close.
• Analyze and provide meaningful commentary around cost center variances to trend and budget/ forecast.

• Assist with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
