TRIPLE H DELIVERY INC is Hiring a Transportation Manager Near Knoxville, TN

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team and oversee our daily product shipments.

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management and possess knowledge of warehouse procedures, including inventory management, order dispatching, and vehicle routing and tracking. You must be familiar with safety protocols and legal regulations to ensure the smooth and secure handling of all shipments. You will be responsible for optimizing the efficiency of our transportation operations while adhering to budgetary constraints.

The Transportation Manager plans and schedules routes, arranges backhauls, tracks on-time deliveries and route completion, oversees warehouse loading, monitors transportation costs, ensures compliance with shipping regulations, and coordinates with third-party providers to ensure vehicles are in good working order. This individual will manage a Loading Supervisor, approximately 25 loading associates, an office support staff and approximately 50 drivers who deliver hardware products from our Knoxville distribution center to hundreds of independent hardware retailers.

Responsibilities:

  • Hires and trains transportation staff.
  • Schedules daily and weekly routes, updating them as frequently as needed.
  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of transportation employees.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Monitors and reports on transportation costs
  • Ensures that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved.
  • Directs all maintenance, repair, and replacement of shipping equipment or vehicles.
  • Implements safety audits and trains staff members on safety issues.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulations related to transportation including those related to hazardous shipments and employee safety.
  • In collaboration with other managers, develops and implements policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations.
  • Ensures compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, environmental policies, and government regulations.
  • Reviews and analyzes expenditures and other financial information; uses results to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field preferred.
  • Experience in hardware or hard goods distribution a plus.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
