The Department of Health Care Administration at Trinity University is seeking a part-time faculty member for the fall 2024 semester to teach HCAD 5333 Legal Aspects Health Care Administration On-Campus Program course. The successful applicant will be an excellent teacher, mentor, contributor, and collaborator across the efforts of the Department's On-Campus Program.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTypical responsibilities of part-time faculty members include but not limited to:
Developing the course syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets departmental and University standards
Designing and delivering lectures, discussions, in-class activities, and assignments
Grading assigned papers, quizzes, and exams
Assigning early, midterm, and final grades in compliance with University deadlines
Maintaining office hours as directed by the department chair or program director
Making student accommodations as determined by the Office of Student Accessibility Services
Adhering to all instructional policies as published in the Faculty Handbook and the Courses of Study Bulletin
Position for the fall 2024 semester for the HCAD On-Campus Program
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION
Required: Juris Doctor Degree or M.S. in Health Care Administration or advanced degree in nursing, medicine or other health profession
Preferred: Juris Doctor Degree or M.S. in Health Care Administration or advanced degree in nursing, medicine or other health profession; Certified Speaking Professional
EXPERIENCE
Required: 5 -7 years relevant experience (law or industry-specific and subject-matter specific experience such as C-suite or other relevant experience in a healthcare system or field)
Preferred: 5 -7 years relevant experience (law or industry-specific and subject-matter specific experience such as C-suite or other relevant experience in a healthcare system or field) and experience as a Certified Speaking Professional
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required: N/A
Preferred: Law, Nursing, Medical or other health professional license; Certified Speaking Professional
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Mastery of the relevant subject matter
Ability to deliver engaging lectures, discussions, or in-class activities
Ability to design rigorous and meaningful assignments
Commitment to the liberal arts mission of Trinity University
